So it was Friday, which means unwinding from the weariness of the week and welcoming the slack of the weekends. Sin and I decided to eat around my workplace for convenience sake. We chose Paradise Inn as it had soup which we thought would warm us up from the chill of the earlier downpour. We might as well have starved.
Firstly, service was lacking. I would not have been so annoyed if it felt that they were understaffed. But there were sufficient waiters around. They just seemed to not see us asking for assistance to get our order taken. When a waiter finally came, they practically rushed through the order and forgot to include the rice we have ordered.
Food took forever to be served with our dish being served before our rice and soup. The first to arrive was the herb floral tea which was not to my liking. But at least I could take a decent picture out of it. Next came the Poached Chinese Spinach with Egg Trio in Superior Stock. The Spinach was hard and the century egg was almost non-existent. It was then the waiter realised she forgot to order our rice. This irks me 'coz Chinese dishes taste better with rice, but whatever, damage done. Finally, after we had finished our dish and rice, the double boiled soup came. In fact a wrong pot was served to us, and the waitress only realised this after dishing out the soup. She promptly dumped the contents of the soup back in the pot and did not even bother to change our bowls. God knows whether they would serve the soup to the next table. Taste-wise, it was alright I guess. Nothing spectacular.
For a meal that almost clogged up a $50 bill, the money could have been better spent. Well at least I have a decent picture of the tea. That for $50 seems way to expensive.
